The game of chess is a sport played all over the world and has a long and rich history.
The event is important for mind sports lovers and aims to promote chess among communities in rural areas by giving them the opportunity to participate in chess tournaments, seminars and workshops. 
 
The Smart Village International Chess Festival represents an excellent ocasion for the development of players' personal skills, but also for the promotion of cultural diversity, serving as a platform for socialization and dialogue about aspects of local cultures and traditions.

The structure
For the fourth edition of the festival, we chose a structure that includes an OPEN CLASSIC tournament that all accredited chess players can register for without age limit, a BLITZ tournament, and a tournament for amateurs (non-accredited).
Players are entitled to 2 rounds with ½ bye point in the first 3 rounds.
